Types of Racial Consciousness

EVERYONE ON THIS EARTH who comes in contact with people of a different racial background than his own is conscious of racial differences to some degree. This holds true for the ivory-tower liberal as well as the stereotypical Southern redneck, for the Jew as well as the Aryan, for the Marxist as well as the National Socialist, for the egalitarian as well as the inegalitarian.
It is not our purpose here to explore all aspects of racial consciousness, nor to delineate each and every way that it manifests itself. Rather, we wish merely to focus on the awareness of the importance of race as it is experienced by those Aryans who are generally lumped together opprobriously as “White racists.”
As Western
civilization rushes pell-mell toward its end, all forms of pro-Aryan
racial consciousness are branded as “racism.” For Aryans (and only for
Aryans) even to think in racial terms is morally reprehensible, we are
told. For instance, whereas racial unity and racial pride are
acceptable, and even desirable, for Blacks, Jews, Hispanics and so
forth, they are absolutely forbidden for Whites. Likewise, non-Aryans
are encouraged to constantly be on the lookout for acts of
discrimination directed against them, while Aryans are led to believe
that anti-White discrimination either does not exist or that if it does,
it is justifiable because of past injuries inflicted on non-Whites by
the White man.
Indeed, even the use of the words “Aryan” and “Nordic” is prohibited. The use of the word “White” in a racial sense is discouraged and permitted only when non-capitalized. (Marxist publications, in particular, are notorious for refusing to capitalize White, while always capitalizing Black and Brown – for Hispanic – when discussing race.)
A ”racist,” as defined by the kosher sociologists of the System, is any White person who tends to think in racial terms and who makes value judgements based on racial considerations. The most hardened type of racist, we are told, is the “bigot,” who not only thinks racial thoughts and makes racial judgments, but goes so far as to act in a manner consistent with the thoughts and value judgements he is making. He has only White friends, prefers to live in an all-White neighborhood and would object to his daughter marrying a Black.
Furthermore (or so the story goes), while such petty forms of racism and bigotry as these are disgusting, contemptible and abhorrent, they are not in themselves very dangerous. The danger is that such petty racism leads to Ku Klux Klan-style lynchings, and sooner or later, to the gas overs of Auschwitz. Thus runs the standard liberal mythology of racism.
Any organization which is openly concerned about the betterment or welfare of White people is termed “racist” in the news media. Those which are perceived to be anti-Black (no one is ever perceived by the news media to be pro-White) are frequently referred to as being “Klan-type,” while those groups perceived as being anti-Jewish are term “Nazi-like,” “neo-Nazi” or “Hitlerite.” (The further to the left a given medium is, or the more avowedly Zionist, the more it will use such inaccurate and inflammatory adjectives.)
In short: the message our people receive is this: There is only one form of pro-Aryan racial consciousness – racism – and it is evil. (For those to whom being evil is not deterrent enough, the entertainment media consistently portrays racism as being socially unacceptable, like bad breath. Very effective, no doubt, not only for impressionable teenagers, but for their parents as well.)
However, despite the contentions of the mass media and pop sociologists to the contrary, there is no one single type of racial consciousness that encompasses all of those who think in racial terms. Although there are plenty of Archie Bunker (1), knee-jerk racists around, they are by no means representative of every Aryan who is cognizant of racial differences and aware of their importance.
There are three primary types of racial consciousness with which we should concern ourselves: racial idealism, racism, and racial neutralism. Despite the similarity in the names, each is separate and distinct from the others, and possesses its own qualities and characteristics. Moreover, each of these three types of racial consciousness exemplify a certain basic attitude or way of looking at the world, which is equally as important as the concepts themselves.
RACIAL IDEALISM. This is a positive, upbeat form of racial consciousness, based on the love of one’s own people and the desire to safeguard its welfare and better its lot. Racial idealism calls for the individual to put himself at the service of his race, and to be willing to make sacrifices – including the supreme sacrifice of his own life – for its sake.
The racial idealist is more interested in the achievements and glories of his own race than he is in denigrating the real or alleged shortcomings of other races. He is, however, quick to spring to the defense of his racial community if it is genuinely threatened in any way by alien peoples.
Racial idealism is essentially revolutionary and forward-looking. It envisions a new order for Aryan man on this planet. It heralds a new society built on racial values that will allow an unhindered and unprecedented flourishing of our people and its culture.
The National Socialist world view is the only world view or philosophy of life which upholds racial idealism in its purest sense. Other ideologies and movements can be considered racially idealistic only to the extent that they approach National Socialism.
RACISM. The mirror image of racial idealism is racism. Whereas a racial idealist is someone whose chief motivation is love of his own people, a racist is someone who is motivated by hatred of other races. A racial idealist is interested in promoting the well-being of his own folk; the racist is interested in doing harm to others.
Racial idealism is positive and creative; racism is negative and destructive. A racist spends more time downgrading other peoples than in contemplating and taking pride in the accomplishments and beauties of his own race.
A racial idealist voluntarily makes sacrifices for his people. A racist seldom makes a willing sacrifice of any kind, because ultimately his outlook is based on egoism (selfishness) and hatred, neither of which gladly sustain sacrifice.
Racism is reactionary in the same way that racial idealism is revolutionary. The racist tends to look back to the “good old days” before the influx of Mexicans and boat people (2), when “niggers” knew their place. Insofar as a racist looks to the future, he simply envisions present-day society without its ubiquitous non-Aryans.
Generally speaking (but not always by any means), racists tend to be of a lower racial caliber than racial idealists.
Whereas the National Socialist movement and its world view are the purest expression of racial idealism, most organizations which ar part of the Ku Klux Klan movement are racist. The have striven to attract “nigger-haters,” and they have succeeded. (3)
RACIAL NEUTRALISM. A third type of racial consciousness is racial neutralism.
Briefly. A racial neutralist is someone who recognizes the reality of race – as both racial idealists and racists do – but who does not assign any emotional attachments or make value judgements based on racial considerations. If we understand racial idealism as being a positive way of looking at race, and racism as a negative way, then racial neutralism, as its name implies, is neutral.
A racial neutralist readily concedes the existence and even the importance of physical and spiritual differences among the races of Man but simply does not integrate this realization into his own personal value system. Racial neutralists neither love their own race nor hate other races. A racial neutralist, for example, will admit that there are manifold and significant differences between Whites and Blacks, and that collectively the White race is far superior to the Black race. At the same time, however, he will maintain that he is not opposed to racial intermarriage “in theory,” provided that interracial couple “truly love each other.”
Whereas the racial idealist looks toward the future and the racist towards the past, the racial neutralist is grounded in the here-and-now.
Most System politicians and functionaries (4) who are cognizant of racial differences fall into this category, except for police officers, who are often racists. One gets the impression that racial neutralists suppress their natural racial instincts, either deliberately or unconsciously, because they realize how out o vogue – and potentially dangerous to their jobs and social standing – thinking and acting in racial terms is,
Some high-profile ethnologists, such as Dr. William Shockley and Dr. Arthur Jensen, profess racial neutralism. While allowing for the importance of race in human affairs, they stress that everyone must be treated as an “individual.” However, their consistent concern for the future and their continual emphasis on human quality over human quantity seems to belie this. It would not be unreasonable to assume that they are actually racial idealists of a sort, disguised as bland, apolitical racial scientists, for the benefit of the media and their public reputations.
In closing, we should note that while every racial conscious Aryan will fall int one of these three categories by the dint of his personality, elements of both the positive and the negative exist in each racially aware White person to some degree.
The personality of the racial idealist may be dominated by love of his own people, but he will still harbor certain negative feelings about negative races, in particular those who actively harm his folk.
The same is true for his obverse, the racist. Few Aryans are so consumed by hatred of other races that they lack any glimmer of love for their own people.
And lastly, somewhere within the soul of every racial neutralist – as outward disinterred as they may appear – the complementary instincts of race-love and race-hate tug at him and strive to be awoken.
It is the duty of the leadership cadre of the National Socialist movement to be aware of these three key types of racial consciousness. It is especially important at this time, during the Movement’s crucial formative stage, that we recruit only those whose personalities are dominated by racial idealism into our ranks. If our leadership corps is not made up of racial idealists, to the exclusion of all others, we cease to be a truly National Socialist organization, whatever our outward trappings may be.

(1) “Archie Binker” was the name of a character in the anti-White television situation comedy “All in the Family” in the early 1970s. It was written and produced by the Jew Norman Lear. Archie was depicted as an uneducated, insecure bigot who insulted and disparaged non-Whites to boost his own sagging ego.
(2) The term “boat people” refers to Asian refugees of various ethnicities who fled their country in small boasts following the Communist takeover of Vietnam in 1975 . Between 500,000 and 600,000 were allowed to permanently settle in the US.
(3) Original footnote from 1981: “One exception, if only to a certain degree, is the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, presently headed by Don Black and formerly headed by David Duke. This Klan has at least made an appeal to racial idealism part of its outreach – though with less than total success. The original Klan of the 1860s, it should be noted, was based on racial idealism rather than racism.”
In 2026, many of the smaller Klan organizations have faded away, along with their negative, racist outlook. The largest Klan today is the Knights of the Ku Klux, led by Pastor Thomas Robb. It is the direct organizational descendant of the KKKK founded by David Duke and later led by Don Black. It maintains the positive, racial idealist approach which it inherited from its founders.
(4) The governmental ‘functionaries” referenced here are collectively known in 2026 as the “Deep State.”
